Lori Weitzner
Lori Weitzner has been internationally known for her contributions to the world of textiles and wallcoverings for more than thirty years. As VP and Design Director of Weitzner Limited, Lori brings her signature aesthetic and sophisticated color sense to all of the brand’s textiles and wallcoverings.
At her Manhattan studio, which Lori dubs her White Box Sanctuary, she and her team explore inspiration in material form. This could mean spending a day drawing, painting, making stencils or collaging torn paper—all of which can become the jumping off point for a fabric weave or wallcovering pattern.
Her recent book, Ode to Color: The Ten Essential Palettes of Living and Design, shares her unique perspective on the uses and significance of color in design. Lori has broadened her design work to include collaborations with Samuel & Sons on passementerie, Perennials and West Elm on rugs, Artistic Tile on stone, and gifts and cards with Papyrus. In 2018, Lori launched a line of textile infused jewelry and accessories. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Cooper-Hewitt and Smithsonian Design Museum, among others. She is the recipient of more than twenty-five prestigious design awards and lectures frequently on design. Her work is featured regularly in the media, including Elle Décor, Architectural Digest, and The New York Times.
