Shifu
Developed in 17th century Japan, spun paper yarn was originally prized for its durability and used to craft protective coverings such as armor bindings and firefighters’ sandals. The desire to refine this strength into a lighter weight fabric for garments led to Shifu cloth. Based on this traditional woven paper textile, Shifu is a one-of-a-kind texture for the wall. Three colorways showcase the tonal variation of the paper yarn with an understated elegance.
