The best of both worlds
At Weitzner, beauty and innovation in design come first. But we believe an environmental story enhances an interior space as much as luxurious materials. Our mission is to create wallcoverings that balance our unique aesthetic with the eco-conscious attributes we all value. .
It’s all in the materials
Weitzner has always worked with natural fibers to achieve our lustrous textures and singular patterns. From classic linen and silk, to abaca (banana leaf) fiber, to mulberry tree pulp, rapidly renewable materials (derived from plants that are harvested on a 10-year or shorter cycle) are staples of our creative palette. We also achieve both subtle and dramatic effects with recycled content, whether it is inherent in the raw materials or featured as a visual element. Many of our paper styles contain recycled pulp.
Weitzner and LEED
To help our clients make informed environmental choices, Weitzner has identified products in our line that may contribute toward LEED credits.
How does this work?
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building standards have become increasingly important as guidelines for designers and architects since their inception in 1998 by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC.) Certification is awarded to buildings based on the overall materials and practices used in the project.
Under the LEED Commercial Interiors (CI) rating system, textiles and wallcoverings fall into the Materials and Resources (MR) credit category. Many Weitzner wallcoverings can contribute to one or more of the following LEED CI credits:
Materials and Resources Credit 4: Recycled Content
Materials and Resources Credit 6: Rapidly Renewable Materials
